Get to know Dan a little better…
Can you tell us about your career history?
I've worked within the site accommodation sector for 25 years. At the start of my career I joined a company called ReadySpace and Johnson as a yard operative, which was soon bought out by Elliott Group and subsequently Algecco. As a yard operative, I was responsible for everything from cleaning and preparing cabins to repairs of any units following their offhire. My tenacity and willingness to learn meant that during this time, I quickly became a yard supervisor which led me to become depot foreman position.
After Elliott Group purchased the company, I moved into a depot management and managed a few locations in around the South, I was then given an opportunity to take up the position of Lean Coordinator for the South position. This position allowed me to work more closely with senior leadership to help spearhead the overall company objectives within the Southern division. I moved on from this position into a Regional Operations Management role, overseeing a multi depots across the Southeast.
I then left Elliott Group and moved to Mobile Mini working as a Branch Manager for their largest depot in London. I used my operational and management skills to develop, support the team down there before starting my own logistics, Haulage company.
